Though ATB can default to a '40kph drive-on-sight' if signal fails, which I think is used at 'older' 'bit-station' approaches, where line speed is 40kph anyway. This is obv. not ideal, so station-throat-rebuilds try do to away with this.

ATB does have cab signals in stations: Note this cab ride, with the ATB-speed as orange arrow in the top-right: www.youtube.com/watch?v=35S4... At the start, the dwarf-signal is green, which is 40kph max. From 20:45 you can see the arrival into Utrecht, with no drop of ATB at 80kph (line speed).

It had a solid S-Bahn system and two U-Bahn lines radiating out of Mitte in the directions controlled by the Soviet sector.

Just found out Erin Reed is maintaining - I won’t link it but it’s on her site - a list of electoral campaigns (by Democrats) she actively encourages trans people to abstain from and tell others to abstain from. This is *insane*. This is an active sabotage campaign with no upside.

They didn't cite operating costs and indeed ran half-hourly service on the inner Eastern Line, because majority-white working-class suburbs are okay by them ("Gateway Cities"), just not Dorchester.
