Even snapshots can hold delightful details, such as this one of a Rochdale bus loading up in Bury: so this lovely photo is this week's #ThrowbackThursday. Bury Interchange now stands on this spot, while a bus that's identical to this one is part of our collection but currently in offsite storage.

Another negative that has deteriorated but is just about salvageable is of Midland Red N5 Leyland National 518 (JOX 518P) which was allocated to Shrewsbury and is pictured with HOTSPUR branding. On July 8 1981 it was on loan at Nuneaton and was working an N40 Grove Farm service.

Now preserved by the Leicester Transport Heritage Trust, Midland Red BMMO S22 5905 (PHA 505G) was based at Nuneaton between December 1971 and June 1980. On May 9 1979 with driver Ashley Wakelin it heads up Thorntons Way with a return Grove Farm Circular N39 to Nuneaton
