Notable this comes after US-UK Taskforce / Joint Statement on promoting stablecoins and reg alignment. In both countries, finance ministries are pushing private digital currencies over caution of central banks. Similar clash between Commission and ECB ongoing in EU over MiCA review.

Except central banks have significantly raised the bar for financial crashes. Systemic loss of market confidence matters less than sudden collapse in trust that central banks can still backstop the system. We replaced price signals with politico-technocratic ones.
