PS - Having gone through it now, I think that @elife.bsky.social's new model (preprint with post-hoc review and summary by the reviewers) is the future for science. It is more honest about the prestige assignment, and doesn't deceive us about the "trustworthiness" of a peer reviewed result.

What about any old system identification paper that shows how predictive performance goes up as a function of data?Not sure it fits the bill of scaling law and foundation model, but it shows pretty much the same thing 🤓
