Nobody really prepares you for realising this as you traverse the middle part of your life. They ought to. Our disappointed fathers should have sat us down and said 'son, i sort of muddled by but as you can see i failed in all my best hopes and aspirations. i was mediocre in whatever i undertook

I go through almost daily feelings of sadness over my personal failures. I used to go to therapy but honestly, the worst of my mental illness is behind me, I check in periodically about my med regime, but this sadness isn't something that'll be medicated or talked away. I really did fail.
