"Decarbonisation-ready" fossil fuel infrastructure to power data centres 🤥 Great article from @rtakver.bsky.social @desmog.com revealing AI data centres as a "golden goose" for the gas industry, and carbon capture as a "fossil-fuelled delusion". Learn more about the Big Tech-Big Oil bromance ⬇️

This is what data centres in Australia are doing - claiming to be carbon-neutral or to be powered by renewables but actually relying on spurious offset programmes and gas-fired generation. @ketanjoshi.co has documented it in detail.

This whole piece is an amazing demonstration of how (a) CCS is still a major part of fossil fuel greenwashing and (b) how directly and immediately it works to smooth the approval and growth of fossil fuel projects www.desmog.com/2026/10/14/u...

"AVK told DeSmog that the company has “not yet delivered a carbon capture scheme” of its own but that its “believe[s] in the power of the technology”"" Brilliant @rtakver.bsky.social at @desmog.com digging into the company spruiking CCS for fossil fuelled data centres in the UK!
