Well, this synced up perfectly. @frankcifaldi.bsky.social
Show PostI have no idea what happened to it all after Mythic shut down. I assume it all got boxed back up, probably mingled with loads of Mythic-related whatnot, then shipped off to whoever was on the ownership spreadsheet next. Which may very well have been BioWare, actually.
Show PostThere was also lots of ancient physical media we couldn't process. Everything from old tape drives to microfiche. We invited the main remaining Origin fansite to come out and help us document everything, which they were happy to do. They even found bits of an unreleased game called "Technosaur".
Show PostThere was a lot of stuff inside. Scripts from Richard Garriott's annual haunted house (staffed by Origin team members as near as we could tell), loads of original art (including a Hildebrandt bros painting) that we tried to return to the artists if we could identify and find them, old games, etc.
Show PostYears ago, when EA bought us, Mythic inherited what was left of Origin Systems which we found out involved a shipping container being sent to our studio. As near as we could tell, it was never cataloged or tracked in a real way. Everything was just boxed up, crammed into storage and shuffled around.
