Absolutely. When I was driving Grand Turk for Hornblower TV director tried to object as one of my crew was black. Told him that he was both my best topman & historically correct, & my union would support me. He backed off🤣

(there's a valid question about what we're meant to see in many historic images of black people especially, and the attitudes they reflect can be difficult, but assuredly they were there and reported as being so)
