I consider myself as having a tendency towards pessimism, sadness & anxiety. I experience good things, but it feels like gravity is moving in the opposite direction. I often puzzle over & work at feeling & thinking differently. I suppose the fact I'm still trying is its own form of optimism.

It's very fascinating to me, talking with people who are more stable, centred, confident & content than me, because it reminds me that there are other ways of encountering life, & I have much still to learn (or unlearn). I don't know how much of it is teachable, but I imagine some must be.
