If the point of a game is to fight your way through the dungeon and collect a lot of shit, then looting the bodies is great! Hence its presence in OD&D, Diablo, etc. But if the point of a game is to tell an emotionally driven narrative, then looting is a distraction at best, an impediment at worst.
