It always comes back to "how does this make money right now?" Canada will never establish greater leadership in science if the government keeps acting like highly bureaucratic venture capitalists looking for the quickest ROI. Good science does not always lead to commercialization.

By cutting out the process of learning, the machine effectively traps the Idea Guy in a feedback loop where he CAN'T get better ideas, because none of his ideas are ever confronted with the challenges that need to be overcome to grow artistically. And it deludes him into thinking his ideas are good.
