To "kill D&D," a game would need after-school clubs and other means of gaining cultural weight, and to market past the reach D&D holds, not only to D&D's main fanbase, and KEEP DOING IT for 20+ years. There are no contenders, including Daggerheart. Nobody I'm aware of even has that *strategy* now.
