I'm so sorry for your loss. However, I would say that the vaccine saved my dad's life. He would not have survived COVID without having his symptoms reduced...he was just too sick otherwise. And it saved many, many others like him. And for me, who seemed like a COVID magnet, I managed to avoid...

Normally I'd agree with you, but bot or not I like having that out there. Just too easy to explain why vaccines were the right choice. And vaccines are unfortunately an issue I could see being important on Bluesky as well...it's not just a MAGA issue. :(

And by the way, I am fully vaccinated, including Covid, a yearly flu shot and about to get the Shingles one (they didn't have the chicken pox vaccination when I was a kid). And just fine. But maybe don't wait until you're grown to have the MMR and you'd be fine too?
