Is this filmed with external lighting? The neon green of the cloud makes me think it could be fluorescent and maybe bioluminescent in the dark?

maybe the slime deters its predators predators by making it a nasty mouthful they would spit out, so they concentrate on other prey coming near it.
Show PostAs a layman, maybe a slime cloud to deter bacteria and other non-photo receptive organisms. also makes for a good shield. The lights are loud signaling so smarter creatures avoid it since it's basically a screaming "LURE HERE" to its predators predators.
