I actually don’t think she’s going to be an aberration at all. My colleagues on the religious left are speaking out loudly, are organizing with one another and within their congregations, and are going into this time eyes open. Many are too scared to speak, it’s true. But look for the helpers ❤️

My fear? It’s that it won’t matter. That clergy will be fired by congregations that “don’t like politics” even when that means turning away entirely from sacred teachings about loving one’s neighbor and the sojourner in the land. That congregations will focus too much on comfort. I hope I’m wrong.
