I'm scrolling Bluesky like any other day and I see Romolla playing Frogger the Great Quest on my timeline, a true 4/10 platformer that I DID TESTING ON WHEN I WAS 11 BECAUSE MY DAD MADE THAT GAME AT KONAMI AND EVERY BUG I SUBMITTED WAS NOT REPRODUCABLE BECAUSE THE CODE WAS DOOMED BEFORE I GOT THERE

My husband is a big gamer, and my mom got fussy over it. So I turned the tables, as my dad loves to cook, and my grandma got fussy because cooking is a woman's job. My mom said it makes him happy, and helps him relax. I said the same thing to my mom,using her words. She shut up. 😂

...are you serious? o_O If THIS is the kind of advice being given now on gamedev forums and channels then the attitude has DRASTICALLY changed over the past couple decades and not for the better. >_<

Plus literally any statistic that breaks down video game players by both gender and genre. You'll always find men make up anywhere from 70% to 90% of players in the genres that "core gamers" play.

The more interactive and in-depth a game genre is, the less women play it. If you take facebook moms and women who only like walking sims out of the equation, men make up ~80% of gamers, like the other guy said.
