I feel like I am minorly "too online" and have floated in leftist and left leaning spaces for many years...but I got about...52% of what she was saying. Which is an indication that her conclusion is entirely correct. Republicans cannot even fathom, because I barely can.

Platforms like FB and Twitter reward narcissism. They breed a culture of ever increasing extremism in order to get noticed. Psychopaths thrive in these environments because they're committed and they're good at it. No matter who is in power politically, they rule the conversation.

Not arguing with this so much as departing from it in certain ways. First, I’d argue that social media is brain-rotting by definition. Like alcohol, it can poison our brains into a delusional state of happiness, well-being, connectedness, etc. In moderation, it’s probably fine for most people.
