One thing most people don’t know about disability is how unsafe you feel ALL the time. It’s terrifying not being able to trust your body to function properly. It’s scary to need to rely on others for basic survival. It’s frightening watching society label you expendable.

How much of me actually wants to reconnect with family and how much of me just wants to touch an emotional bruise? On one hand it felt really good to rekindle with the people I HAVE reached out to. And on the other I’m so afraid of my mom/ grandmother I feel sick at the thought of it. Maybe not now.
