There's a cistern on the property and she gave us some tips on how to conserve water. Being from CA, I'm no stranger to conserving water, but this is very different. Puerto Ricans deserve better. ❤️🙏🏼🇵🇷

Been messaging with our first Airbnb host this morning. She was kind enough to let us know that the water problems in Puerto Rico are also in the area around El Yunque, about 35 miles from San Juan, where her property is. She's Puerto Rican and you can "hear" the upset in her messages.

If you're traveling to Puerto Rico and choosing Airbnbs, I highly recommend putting in the littlebit of extra effort to book only local owned places. All of our hosts have been so gracious, kind, welcoming, and happy that we're choosing to rent from locals only and we're not even there yet!
