So reminds me of @parismarx.com reporting on Musk and why he pushed the Hyperloop and Boring Co. tunnels - in part to throw cities off of developing better public transit options that make people not wanna buy cars or need to take taxis.

Baltimore Co folks: VOTE NO on Ques #1! The URDL boundary was never about “preserving farmland” in the Hereford zone. It was set 55 years ago to preserve the estates, lifestyle & views of big landowners in The Valleys from mid-class encroachment. Ques #1 means it will never be re-examined or updated

This is leapfrog sprawl. So York Co PA just over MD/Baltimore Co line. Attainable mid-class homes occupied by mid-class families, driving to work in Baltimore Co or City. Dont pretend the URDL stops development or saves farmland. It just displaces it to farms in authentic rural areas past its reach.

Here’s what’s going on. Baby boomers bought houses for cheap and then spent decades showing up to meetings demanding nothing else could be built in their neighborhoods so that their houses would see exponential increases in value, and now they don’t want that value taxed.
