Show PostThings are changing whether people like it or not. The only way I see out of this is to push hard to the left to bring us into a future where we care for everyone, including the land and water. First Nations, Inuit & Metis can lead these conversations as we are already well versed in how to do this.
Show PostI also think the answer to "yes" on the rest of the questions reveals what Indigenous people already know - a person can vote against separation, wave the flag of Canada, be patriotic, and still be deeply bigoted, racist, anti-Indigenous, and anti-immigrant.
Show PostThis misses the opportunity for Albertans and Canadians on a whole swing hard towards a better Alberta for all. Because the separatists vow to never quit. And for the pro-Canada side, they go home and feel the referendum is the end of it.
Show PostI think this is important to remember because First Nations voices were not centred in this process and they should have been, and now that the "win for Canada" is being claimed, First Nation votes and voices and the reasons why they voted are being grouped in with "proud to be Canadian" ones.
