There are actual studies on this in regards to lawn work! Mowing and mulching kicks up a ton of dust and dirt, as well as mildewed leaf matter. Ditto blowing leaves. I try to wear an N95 for clearing the driveway and "thresh" tall grass for my own and the local ecology's) health.

You know something crazy? During the pandemic when everybody was masked all the time, I started wearing a mask while mowing my lawn… And you know what? All the dust, dirt, pollen, etc. that I WASN’T sucking into my sinuses & lungs felt way better, and I’ll never mow the lawn again without a mask.
