Ok, time for a thread about what I saw yesterday at #CrystalPalace. As you can see, just about everything has been repaired and re-painted, and in places (like the previously misidentified Xiphodon) re-positioned. It looks fantastic and you have to check it out, even if you've visited before...
Show PostThe temnospondyls - termed 'labyrinthodonts' by the Victorians - have been re-done. ALL the new colour schemes have been devised following examination of original paint traces OR by checking art by the supervisor, Benjamin Hawkins. Temnospondyls were thought to be quite froggish or toady, evidently.

Toured the Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities and Unnatural History in NE London. Very cool. Well worth the trip. Their ground floor is a cocktail bar, so make a night of it. Pre-book tickets though!
