Not quite. CW is where assignments are provided well in advance and students have a significant period to research and produce the work. A take-home exam is when you provide a very limited period of time. When I was a UG we had 72 hours to answer three questions of 2000 words each. Much more taxing.

Not very scalable unfortunately, so only suited for small class sizes / postgraduate courses. (In addition to potential issues of bias, and being slanted by oral skills.)

As far as I know, it's most of them. We're actively discouraged from having in-person exams!
