All very true and it reminds me a lot of Catherine Lutz's essay on "The Gender of Theory". I was definitely annoying in grad school, but I'd like to think in slightly different ways...

Well said and I guess it's cold comfort that anthropology has rendered itself increasingly irrelevant rather than actually do this sort of work.

Outrageous but not surprising. Terrible how the profession has treated people from minoritized backgrounds raising these points, in no small part to defend mediocre and ineffective people and theoretical trends/"turns" that have now clearly failed to meet the moment.

It can’t be that the response to the fascism unleashed upon immigrants is dependent on individual victims getting notice and represented by congress people who advocate on their behalf. What about all those, the majority who don’t get noticed in that way? Something more radical is called for. Tired.
