A sweet track from my band Heavy Lidders where I sing along with Kate Wright from Movietone. With an original print on the sleeve from Linda Smith ! Two of my favorite artists ever. 🚀🚀#movietone #lindasmith #heavylidders #iamnotworthy @movietone1000dawns.bsky.social @lindamariesmith55.bsky.social

Recalling autumnal ‘60s fare like Fotheringay, Fairport, and Trees, there’s also a touch of California winds in the harmonies on “Silver.” Though, this one might land closest to Pentangle. The new folk outfit BRIAR, from Daniel Romano, is shaping out to a late ‘26 essential! bit.ly/4sbLmHD

Here's a near-universal law derived from 46 years of seeing live music: The worse the opening band, the longer they play and the more entitled they seem. (Or maybe their shittiness just makes it ~feel~ like their sets are longer...)

It’s good to still discover stuff in this vein after 20 years of digging. Very into the Dillards mid 60s-early 70s work but never heard this album with John Hartford until today. A slightly more polished late-70s production might turn off a few folks, but the songs/arrangements are great.
