It's not about age, I think Barbara Lee and Ed Markey are great. I'm just saying that approval ratings matter quite a bit for a candidate being viable to win, Mills was clearly not, I said nothing about age
Show PostI just think it's incredibly stupid to run an unpopular Governor who couldn't even poll above a Nazi rapist in each of their match-ups vs. Collins Maine lucked out with Troy Jackson being ready to run and he's winning, and he's on the left and not ashamed of it I'm shocked Mills has supporters tbh
Show PostI'm not a Platner supporter and never was, disgusted from the first moment I heard last year, you can check my posts Platner also wasn't endorsed by DSA while Jackson was, but your narrative works better ignoring that folks like Gallego backed Platner early too Maine is far better off with Jackson
Show PostJanet Mills is one of the least popular Governors in the US Back in November: 43% approval a 23 point negative swing from June, and Dem approval went from 90% -> 68% I highly recommend KHive try backing politicians who are actually popular and up in polls if you still want to stir up 2016 drama.
Show PostNo, it was necessary to not have yet another septogenarian in office. Janet has done a great job as governor, but there's been an entire movement away from the gerontocracy, especially in the Dems (they've had, what, 5 reps/senators die of age-related causes in office since 2025?).
