Update on this: NS has now eliminated direct Memphis-Northeast intermodal service. Traffic is once again moving via Atlanta, as it did before the railroad and a coalition of state governments spent hundreds of millions to upgrade the line/associated terminals

I listened to the most recent WTYP on the Amtrak Frankfort Jct. wreck and as a former train driver who went mad due to the pressure of never making any tiny mistske it was extremely healing to hear @garethdennis.uk and @donoteat.bsky.social talk about how there's no such thing as "driver error".

To a certain extent, I absolutely do mourn the fact that I'll never get to live life as a cisgender woman, but there is also a part of me that is genuinely happy about being trans. It's complicated. Either way, I'm really happy to be alive 🌟
