There is much to admire in Abdul El-Sayed's response to the GOP plant in his audience. But one of the most deft things he did was to point out (twice) that our Constitution protects our right to follow *no* religion, thereby casting Christian nationalist Tommy as the actual religious extremist.

Abdul El-Sayed came across more like a college professor explaining a point about the constitution. Still, I notice Tommy didn’t get attacked, thrown to the floor, punched several times, then dragged out by a sheriff.
