In a world of terrible AI takes, I like this proposal. The biggest problem is still bad actors, boosters that vibe their way through it and claim that they've made miracles with no way to understand (or wilfully misrepresenting) if that's true, but I would enjoy more signals from honest actors too.

This seems to be a reasonable parallel to the big "NO GEN AI" type badges that some folks put on their work. That signal seems to have roughly held up and at least I know what I'm getting! It's nice to have something along the same lines, but for coding agent users.

Good usage hopefully ends like good photoshop or CGI, whereby you don't notice the AI versus the results afforded. Doesn't make the stuff prior bad, nor all CGI good. Same for phone camera access, lots of people have lots more crappy photos, but also, best camera is one on you often.

I agree with you, and I have no intentions of ever commercializing vibe-coded software. But that doesn't remove the incentive in general. If we demand that no AI is used ever in any form of commercial software, then people will just use it without disclosure.
