you know what really kinda ticks me here isn't even that there's malware on the AUR. it's that the official package lists have some pretty big blind spots such as `powershell`, `oh-my-zsh` or `visual-studio-code-bin`. like. dude why are these not straight up part of the official repos

P.S.: I don't know why CachyOS exploded like crazy for gaming, but it has some pretty good quality of life features OOTB if you install a recent/fresh Linux ISO, plus a custom Linux kernel, custom Proton and custom repos.

Eh too soon, I think it'll take at least 5 to 10 more years to be fully viable. Think about how Wayland still doesn't have some basic functionality that x11 had, Or the packaging format nightmare, Or the Nvidia GPU Driver mess, Etc etc

Yeah, I agree on that. I think what I meant was that Nvidia has like 5 different drivers that you have to MANUALLY install unlike AMD or intel where they are basically baked into the kernel
