Since Black History Month is no longer official recognized by the U.S., and since the @asm.org has (for now) taken down this page: asm.org/Articles/202... , here is Jane Hinton. As a lab tech at Harvard, she helped develop Mueller-Hinton agar in 1941, then went on to become a veterinarian.
