My parents told me they knew I was weird because I stared at them with judgmental, analytical eyes as a newborn fresh out of the hospital. Turns out I am weird, but possibly as a result of having the type of parents who project their insecurities onto a newborn and take it personally.

when I was 11 I read an article about the history of "sex change" surgeries, and I assumed that, because it'd been around for a while, that it was just totally normal. anybody could get one whenever. and I was like. cool, I'll get one when I grow up. didn't realize I was trans for another 8 years
