I did read it before commenting! Evaluating “informed” vs. pathological failures is nontrivial. Being “informed” isn’t always good — cf. statistical NLP and the Bitter Lesson. Until @genophoria.bsky.social talk last Wednesday I’d seen little evidence of a complex models beating simple baselines
