My sense these days is that, thanks to careful work by people like @birchlse.bsky.social and @matthiasmichel.bsky.social, the philosophical discussions are a lot more sophisticated than they used to be. Who knows, maybe bluesky will follow suit (LA-noire-doubt-dot-jpg)

It's kind of amazing to see the bluesky discourse on LLM consciousness mirror precisely my experience learning about philosophical discussions of consciousness in grad school (everyone cares a lot, no one really knows what they're talking about, lots of sloppy arguments)
