My grandad was born in 1912. He didn’t fight in the Spanish brigades because he had kids by then. He did welcome Paul Robeson to Liverpool on behalf of the communist party and fight for his country in Burma. He was an internationalist.

The slithering back to even vaguely positive or optimistic analyses of Trump’s second term after the abominations of January 6th cleared the way for today’s abject betrayal of the Ukrainian people. It’s astonishing how many public figures on both sides of the Atlantic are complicit in the crime.
