NGC 3628 is a spiral galaxy located about 35 Mly away in the constellation of Leo. Since we see it nearly edge-on, we can see a prominent lane of dust crossing its disk. Dust like this is common in spiral galaxies and leads to star formation in them. #astronomy

21st to 22nd October: The #Orionids meteor shower peaks this evening into tomorrow morning. Near peak rates will also be seen on the 20th to 21st and 22nd to 23rd. Orionid meteors are fast moving and often colourful. The Moon interferes this year in the first part of the night. #Astronomy
