In a functioning system the authority in question will self correct before it hits crisis point. But there still has to be the ability to step in when it doesn’t
Show PostThere has to be backstop when stuff goes wrong, as there does for councils. The system should have proper ongoing accountability - which was ropy in this case - but there does also have to be the ability for govt to say no, enough. Especially where £100ms are at stake
