What are you missing? Mandela founded uMkhonto weSizwe for gods sake! He was arrested for being actively involved in violent sabotage. Like the IRA, he was absolutely in the right for doing so against colonial invaders but to describe him as nonviolent is flat out wrong.

Oh I agree. They're all posers who need to get permission to parade around and not demand anything. Giving the oppressors a timelime (a day) to wait before they can go back to ignoring them. Its all very silly. I was more speaking to the concept of non-violent resistance when opposing fascism.
