In my place of work any such serious allegation would lead to immediate suspension on full pay, whilst allegations are investigated. Suspension does not imply guilt. It is simply a safeguarding matter. I have no idea why this could not be the standard protocol for all football clubs.

Historically to ask them for advice on the optimal choice. I’m sure the board will be aware of the ethical and judicial aspects of this. If what you imply is shown to be true, Arteta and the involved staff should get the sack, but for now we all speculate.

Do we really assume that Arsenal is that unserious, that we wouldn’t involve legal advice, and we wouldn’t ask the best question here: What is the right thing to do, and act upon the respons? Or do you believe we would implore the lawyers to find ways to play Partey? What does history tell us?

Hey Ronin, thanks for the msg. I really don’t think I was blaming any individual for the situation. I was pretty clear on it being a failing of ‘the club’, the structure and football in general. I don’t want to get into individuals, especially as - as you rightly say - there are things I can’t know.
