I also feel obliged to point out that after Nintendo released the Wii U to commercial failure, in order to prevent layoffs, Satoru Iwata took a 50% pay cut. That should be a reminder that while 400 ppl lost their jobs, Andrew Wilson never took a pay cut to prevent it.

They knew what they were doing. They saw an opportunity to make a ton of money, and knew fully well that the fallout of being stuck with an absurd amount of debt would cost the jobs of hundreds of people. They just didn't give a shit.

When EA sold to Saudi investment, it wasn't all with cold hard cash. Investors borrowing $20 billion from JP Morgan, and when the purchase was complete, stuck the company with the leveraged debt, along with $1.8 billion in interest accrued annually.
