That said, I particularly loved Bonnie Langford’s performance in this one. She was fantastic. And I’ll never begrudge Doctor Who, in any medium, finding an excuse for Sylvester McCoy to play the spoons. I saw him do it on stage once, when he was playing the Fool in King Lear. Just delightful.

I struggled with this one. I agree it was too long, and I think part of that is it trying to parody Eurovision, other sci-fi shows and whodunnits all at once. I think the Eurovision and Sci-fi show parodies should’ve been separate plays. Either can work with a whodunnit, but not both.
