Yeah basically EA ran them into the ground with bad decisions, then once TOR was gone they had the grounds to just disintegrate them based on some spreadsheets due to bad numbers that management caused. If Bioware had been allowed to just make Dragon Age / Mass Effects as they liked they'd be here.

Ace Combat 8 never hits the highest highs of Ace Combat 7, but the baseline of the game is much higher and consistent, and the highs are beautifully intense, with a particular highlight a lone stand against overwhelming odds. An incredibly worthy entry to the series.

The PS5 won because it didn’t really have competition, Xbox imploded, Nintendo is doing its own thing and exclusives were basically dead. You could have entirely skipped it as a console if you played Astro and one Housemarque game at your friend’s house and owned a PC. Still a solid console.
