Setting aside the dubious strategy of arrogantly boasting about how much better a developer you are than I when I have a job and you don't, it sounds like an absolutely miserable way to make a living. "Oh I don't do the creative or interesting part of my job anymore. That's outsourced to Claude."

Instead of being mildly embarrassed he scoffed us about how this kind of thing is not how software is developed anymore and the only reason he had trouble is because he hasn't had to get "down in the weeds" for a year. Claude writes all his code now. He just writes unit tests and "sets boundaries."
