After careful consideration, I have declined radiation. For the type of cancer I have, both radiation and mastectomy are curative options. Based on my previous cancer experience and countless conversations with doctors and survivors, I’ve decided that a mastectomy is the right choice for me.

Update: My Breast Cancer Journey as a Canadian in Rural Ontario This journey began with a routine mammogram, followed by a biopsy in mid-August. The results showed a benign (non-emergency) lump, giving me the option to either monitor it closely or have it removed via lumpectomy.

A reminder... suggestion... to those with *baubles*--get them checked! I was just diagnosed with Stage 0 DCIS (a--typically--non-invasive form of breast cancer that occurs in the milk ducts). Early detection has saved me. My journey isn't over... but I'm going to be ok. So! Check your baubles!
