Hope that makes more sense. I agree with you but I see the problems in keeping up with a rapidly changing world at the same time as cracking the modelling wheels to get usable data, and the issues this can cause for comms.

I work in applying data in adaptation, way more is needed in this but the more we can reduce emissions the better. Some politicians vie for scapping net zero because it's all too late and we just need to adapt (which of course can only go so far) and I don't want the whole discourse to go that way

I think in some of the wider comms there is, and should be, a balance of showing that emissions reductions are effective and important, with some hope and solutions to stop climate paralysis setting in, but the severity of the future scenarios shouldn't be downplayed

So I've read over your article again. You do make very good points and there's definitely a balance to be drawn between scientific rigour to give reliable data to apply to real life planning (my part in all of this) and data that can reflect more quickly the faster rate of change of observations
