Show PostAttending the con is a choice, as is vending there. I sympathize with the situation, but still don’t believe masking should be required, or is significantly more effective than individuals masking, given current conditions and concurrent risk factors.
Show PostBecause my stance is perceived as “opposing masking” it’s assumed I’m malicious or trolling, but my concern is genuine. Many friends have struggled with eating and other anxiety disorders, and I strongly believe over-masking is a new one (and overlaps with social anxiety that masking relieves).
Show PostDealers wearing N95 masks will reduce their infection rates by 83% (assuming they wear them all weekend in all situations). Additionally, positively encouraging masking by anyone with symptoms will do more good than isolated enforcement.
Show PostYes, you’ve convinced yourself that there’s no way to stay safe so you have to mask everywhere and always to regain control. That’s a you decision, but it’s just a new form of illness anxiety disorder that came out of Covid.
