i feel like this coroner is overstepping. Is it shameful how this child’s mental health was de-prioritized by the system? Yes. Contributory? Of course. But to say it could have been prevented is a fantasy and it is unfair to her family. They shouldn’t have to wonder if they pushed hard enough.

Wherever we sit on the psychiatric culture wars, I think psy professionals & academics need to admit we've collectively failed to create a compelling, compassionate & unifying narrative about mental suffering (regardless of what damn words you use to describe it). Shame on us! 😟

Yes I love how the wording is around mechanisms. “Yes we have mechanisms that make it possible to pay people for their work; this has no necessary relation to whether people/external orgs are actually paid for their work within an appropriate timescale”
