I hate audiophiles who have a superiority complex for preferring music in only stereo. “Yeah I downgraded my 5.1 to just stereo, so I can listen to music as the artist intended”. Like you can still listen to stereo music in stereo on 5.1, and then also in surround if they mixed it in surround.

“As the artist originally intended” is bullshit anyway. The artist mixed the album on studio monitors with the intention of sounding good through a variety of speakers and headphones. The artist intended it to sound good on FM radio.
