Had an appointment with my doctor yesterday. Walked into a room where FOX News was playing. As I was the only one in there at the time, I spotted the remote and did what any Constitution-loving American would do and changed the channel.

My mother in law would mash all the control buttons and have that thing deprogrammed within 30 seconds. We got her a hearing assisted phone and she had undone all the setting before we left town. If you want to brick a device, give it to a 92 year old woman who could never even play a vhs tape.

The father of a school friend - 25 years ago now - was doing research on precision medical robotics, developing tech to be installed in rural locations but operated remotely by a human surgeon at a major hospital. I bet that work hasn't received anything like the funding that this sort of thing has.

This is one of those things that makes me so angry about this stuff. We are at an amazing level of technological progress and we can’t even actually appreciate because almost everything they claim it can do is a lie even though what it can do is amazing.
